Who we are

We are The Lark Network CIC.

We are registered with Companies House as a non-profit Community Interest Company, registration no. 13439052.

Our website address is: https://thelarknetwork.com.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

When you complete our contact form, we will collect the following personal information:

The form will also collect any information you share in the message field.

We collect or use this data for the following reasons:

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service Privacy Policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

This website uses the Privacy Suite for WordPress by Complianz to collect and record Browser and Device-based Consent. For this functionality, your IP address is anonymized and stored in our database. This service does not process any personally identifiable information and does not share any data with the service provider. For more information, see the Complianz Privacy Statement.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

This site also uses Google Analytics.

You can view our cookie policy at https://thelarknetwork.com/cookie-policy-uk.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

When using this site, your data may be shared with suppliers and service providers who help us operate Lark and deliver our services, such as website hosting, email and mailing-list services, event-booking platforms and payment providers, where necessary.

Anonymised data collected through our contact form may be shared with external organisations such as funding bodies and companies house, for purposes including (but not limited to) funding applications, monitoring impact and reporting.

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

How long we retain your data

We keep personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide our services, maintain ongoing support relationships, evaluate our impact and meet applicable legal, accounting and funding requirements.

When deciding how long to retain information, we consider its purpose and sensitivity, whether our relationship with you is continuing, any relevant reporting requirements, and whether we can achieve the same purpose using anonymised information.

Financial records, including donation records required for accounting purposes, are normally retained for six years after the end of the financial year to which they relate, or longer where legally required. When personal information is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymise it.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

If you submit your personal information to us through the contact form on this site, you are granted certain data protection rights under the UK GDPR. Which rights you have may be dependent on our lawful basis for collecting and using that information. You can find out more about your right and which exemptions might apply on the ICO’s website:

To exercise these rights, you can contact us using the details at the bottom of this page.

Where your data is sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Nexter Extension

Nexter Extension can send non-sensitive information about this website to POSIMYTH Innovation (api.posimyth.com) to help diagnose conflicts and prioritise fixes. This is off by default, and while it is off nothing is collected or sent automatically.

When enabled, the information sent is: the site URL, the plugin version, PHP / MySQL / WordPress versions, server software, timezone, locale, memory limit, maximum upload size, permalink structure, whether HTTPS / multisite / debug mode are on, the environment type, the number of registered users, the active theme and its version, the detected page builder, the list of active plugin folders and their count, which of the plugin’s features are enabled and how often they are used, Pro/Free and licence status, and the install date. It is sent when the plugin is activated, when it is deactivated, and once a week in the background.

There is one case where information is sent even while the setting is off: the feedback form shown when the plugin is deactivated. If an administrator fills it in and presses Submit, that submission is sent – the reason chosen, any comment typed, and the same non-sensitive setup information listed above – because pressing Submit is the consent for it. Choosing Skip, pressing Esc or clicking outside the form sends nothing at all.

No post or page content, visitor data, user names or email addresses are included. The one exception is that same feedback form: if an administrator ticks “I agree to be contacted via email” there, the site administration email address is sent with the feedback so POSIMYTH can reply. That box is off by default.

The Plus Addons for Elementor
